DEFINITIONS AND FUNCTIONS OF PHOTOSHOP
Photoshop software is used to modify images or photos professionally both involve a modification of the object simple or difficult problems. FUNCTIONS PHOTOSHOP
Often layout tools (palette) Adobe Photoshop has changed is modified by previous users. To restore this palette layout use Windows menu -> Workspace -> Reset Palette Location.
Adobe Photoshop work area can be seen in Figure 1.1, namely:
A: Menu Bar, contains the main commands to open a file, save, resize images, filters and others.
B: Option, contains a selection of tools that you select. Eg selected brush / brush, the size / diameter of the brush here.
C: Figure, displays the image being created or edited.
D: Palette Well, a quick way to access the Brushes palette, tool resets and Layer Comps. It can also be used to put pallets are frequently used.
E: Toolbox contains tools to select and modify images.
F: Palette, contains the small windows in which there are orders and options for the document / image that is being done.
Description and Practice:
Open the document and make a duplicate document
To open the image use the menu File -> Open, whereas to create a duplicate image use the menu Image -> Duplicate.
Changing the image size and canvas
If the image size is changed, then the image will be enlarged or shrunk, to do with the menu Image -> Image Size. If the canvas size is changed, the size of the image remains, there will be a white paper around the image, do the menu Image -> Canvas Size.
Trying ToolBox
Try the tools in the ToolBox, one by one will be discussed in the next chapter. Try right-clicking on a tool that has a triangle at the bottom right to select the hidden tool.
Reflect and Rotating Images
Try the menu Image -> Rotate Canvas -> Canvas Flip Vertical, Image -> Rotate Canvas -> Canvas Flip Horizontal. To rotate the image, choose Image -> Rotate Canvas -> select the desired angle.
Undo
Undo is used to undo the last command, press Alt + Ctrl + Z, or use the history palette.
Transferring images to other documents
To move the images use the Move Tool.
Save for web
Use the menu File -> Save for Web to produce an image with a small size which is used on the web site.
SELECTION AND TOOL
Selecting Images on Phtoshop
Selecting means selecting a particular part of the image. With the selection we can copy, modify, move, or add effects to a selected part without affecting the other parts.
There are three ways to select, namely:
1. Marquee Tool, which selects in the form of rectangles, ellipses, row, and column
2. Lasso Tool, to select a free-form, polygonal or contrast of the image (Magnetic Lasso Tool).
3. Magic Wand Tool, to select based on color similarities.
Type selection, there are two (can be selected on the Option Bar), namely:
1. Normal, have sharp edges.
2. Feather, has a smooth edge or blurred.
INFORMATION
Rectangular Marquee Tool
Use the rectangular marquee tool to crop the image in the form box. Use the menu Select -> Transform Selection to change the menu selection and Select -> Feather to adjust the sharpness outskirts of the pieces.
Elliptical Marquee Tool
Used to make the selection ellipse or circle. You can use the Select -> Transform Selection (or right-click) to change the fields that would be selected. Use the menu Select -> Feather to adjust the sharpness of the edges of the image. Use Select -> Inverse to reverse the selection.
Lasso Tool
This selection is used to select the free form with the mouse.
Polygonal Lasso Tool
Polygonal Lasso Tool is used to select images that have an edge straight line, for example pyramid in Figure 2.5. If the Alt key is pressed, the Polygonal Lasso Tool Lasso Tool will function as usual. Examples of the selection pyramid image scaled and placed on the bottom right corner.
Magnetic Lasso Tool
Magnetic Lasso Tool use is quite easy, because with this tool selected image will automatically make the selection outline in the image of a contrasting color.
Magic Wand Tool
Magic Wand tool will select images that have the same color.
crop Tool
Crop tool is used to remove parts that are not selected. Examples of its use here is used to improve the results of the scan are skewed.
Healing Brush Tool
Healing Brush Tool is used to improve the image of certain sections. Activate this tool, then press Alt + Click on the objects on the parts that are not wrinkled, then click on the wrinkled part to be removed.
Spot Healing Brush Tool
Spot Healing Brush Tool is used to repair damage to the image. Here you do not need to specify the area to be used as a benchmark, because it will be automatically elected from the surrounding area. For example used to eliminate cracks in the statue as in figure 2.10.
This tool is a new tool in the Adobe Photoshop CS2 that does not exist in previous versions.
patch Tool
Patch Tool is used to improve the image. This tool was created by making a selection with the mouse or by holding the ALT key to generate a polygonal shape. Further drag to the area to be used as a benchmark improvement.
Red Eye Tool
Red Eye Tool is used to correct red eyes.
Clone Stamp Tool
Clone Stamp Tool is used to make duplicate an area in the image, or so-called cloning. Press ALT on the object to be cloned, then use the mouse in the area where new objects would be placed.
Background Eraser Tool
This tool is used to remove the background that have similar colors. For example, used to remove background sky in the image of butterflies.
Magic Eraser Tool
Such as the Background Eraser tool, this tool will erase the area with the same color, but the effect is to the whole picture, not just the area that was clicked.
Color Replacement Tool
Color Replacement Tool will change the color of the image without changing the shape of the image. This tool will automatically simply changing the area with the same color into another color is desired.
Blur, Sharpen, and Smugde Tool
Blur Tool is used to blur the area. For example, used to remove freckles on the face. Sharpen tool is the opposite of the Blur Tool. With the Sharpen Tool, the image will be sharper. Smugde Tool is used to change the shape of the image by drag mouse.
Dogde, Burn, and Sponge Tool
Dogde Tool is used to make the area becomes brighter. Burn Tool used to darken the area. Spong Tool is used to brighten (saturate) or reduce color (desaturate).
GAME COLOR IN PHOTOSHOP
Any color can be expressed in three basic colors (RGB) of red, green, and blue. Another way of stating the color is the HSL modes namely Hue, Saturation and Lightness. Another mode is CMYK (Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, Black).
In this chapter will discuss the play of colors, ranging from the set background image, create a gradient, adjust brightness and contrast, and many more tools that interesting. In the next section you can immediately practice accompanied by an instructor.
Paint Bucket Tool
Paint Bucket Tool is used to change the background that has the same or similar color. Background can be replaced with a pattern.
Gradient Tool
Gradient tool is used to produce color gradations. Do not forget to do a selection in advance which parts will be filled with color gradation. If not, then the whole canvas filled with gradations.
Brush Tool
Brush Tool is used as a brush in a drawing with the mouse. Set the brush size, hardness, opacity, and flow. Bush Tool can also work on Air Brush mode.
Brightness / Contrast
Brightness is used to adjust the brightness of the image. Contrast is used to adjust the sharpness of the image. Use the menu Image -> Adjustments -> Brightness / Contrast.
level
Level functions similarly to the Brightness / Contrast, but more flexible because of the color can be arranged dark colors, secondary colors, and bright colors. Level can work on the selection or the entire canvas. Use the menu Image -> Adjustments -> Levels.
curves
Curves works like level, but you set the RGB colors in the form of curves. Use the menu Image -> Adjustments -> Curves. Curves can be set to automatic, RGB mode or set individually for each color.
Color Balance
Through the menu Image -> Adjustments -> Color Balance we can adjust the color balance.
Photo Filter
Photo filters are used to provide a filter to the image. Much like filter placed in front of the camera lens. Use the menu Image -> Adjustments -> Photofilter.
Replace Color
Replace Color used to replace specific colors in an image, while the other colors do not change. For example, to change the color of the apples without changing the background color. Use the menu Image -> Adjusments -> Replace Color.
Hue / Saturation
Hue / Saturation is used to change the color of the whole image / selection. Hue is color, while Saturation is thick / thin color. Use this tool via Image -> Adjustments -> Hue / Saturation. The color change can be set on the master channel, or each color.
Match Color
Color Match will match the color source image to the image to be changed. For example here would be altered image danau3.jpg, into the atmosphere for sunrise as a reference image. Use this tool through the menu Image -> Adjustments -> Match Color.

TEXT AND VECTOR PHOTOSHOP
Horizontal Type Tool
Horizontal Type Tool is used to create text secar horizontal. The results of the text can be moved with the Move Tool.
Horizontal Type Mask Tool
Horizontal Type Mask Tool is used to select in text form.
Pen Tool
Peen Tool is used to create straight lines and curved lines in vector form. Click once to create an anchor point, and if the curve has been formed, drag the anchor point to create a direction point. Path created by the Pen Tool can be converted into a selection.
Rectangle, Ellipse, Polygon, and Custom Shape Tool
This tool is useful for producing a box shape (rectangle), ellipse, polygon, and various other forms that have been provided by Adobne Photoshop. These forms such as liver, lights, musical notes, and so forth.
LAYER, MASK, AND STYLE
Layer is a layer of invisibility. The part that is not a picture on a transparent layer. Layers can be stacked and arranged composition. By using layers, effects would apply in a particular layer, without disturbing the other layer.
Quick Mask Mode
Quick Mask Mode is used to select using the Brush Tool. Activate this tool by pressing the Q key on the keyboard or choose Quick Mask Mode tool.
layer Mask
Layer Mask used to hide certain parts of the layer. Use black to hide the image and the color white to display the image.
layer Style
Layer Style is a technique of giving a certain effect on a layer. Select the Add Layer Style tool which is on the lower right corner of the palette.
SPECIAL EFFECTS PHOTOSHOP
Liquify filter
Liquify filter can change the image directly using the mouse. Eg, zoom in / out eyes, shifting the eyebrows, and so forth. This filter can be used via the menu Filter -> Liquify.
Filter Vanishing Point
Vanishing Point filter is used to re-clone the image in the form of perspective. This filter can be used via the menu Filter -> Vanishing Point. Area sources cloning determined by pressing Alt + Click. Feature is a new feature in Adobe Photoshop CS2.
Blur filter
Blur filter is used to blur the image. What is interesting in this filter is the blurring of images can be created radially. Use this filter through menu Filter -> Blur.
